E&J developed Battery Management System For 12.8V LiFePO4 battery module

Date:2015-02-01

E&J BMS/PCM Development Team is in the process of developing and qualifying the next generation of Battery Management System (BMS) for the E&J 12.8V Battery Module which can support the large number modules to series and parallel to use. The design goal of E&J new generation 12.8V battery module BMS is to provide sufficient cell oversight and system protection such that the possibility of cell failure becomes extremely unlikely and the key balancing function for each module. Functional control of cell charge, battery discharge, cell heater activation and general communication with other subsystems is performed by the BMS. The BMS uses an embedded microcontroller set to monitor the various battery and cell parameters and to optimize capacity utilization of the cell stack through individual cell balance charging, while providing oversight for the safe operation of the lithium cells. When the new generation 12.8V BMS to enable E&J 12V LiFePO4 battery module to series and parallel in large number at the same time, more and more traditional VRLA/AGM/SLA batteries will be replace by E&J 12V LiFePO4 batteries. And that time, the fewer traditional VRLA/SLA/AGM batteries in the world, the more lithium-ion batteries to replace them, the more green world we can enjoy.
